To further deepen university-enterprise cooperation mechanisms, promote the deep integration of industry and education, and broaden high-quality employment channels for graduates, on the afternoon of March 18, 2026, a delegation of more than 40 faculty and student representatives from the School of Life Sciences and Technology of Southeast University visited Nanjing Geneseeq Technology Inc. to conduct a special "Enterprise Visit & Career Development" exchange activity. Relevant leaders from Nanjing Geneseeq and the Life and Health Office of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area received the visiting faculty and students.

This activity, through various forms such as on-site visits, symposium exchanges, and career development guidance, aimed to allow faculty and students to gain a deep, frontline understanding of the development status of the biopharmaceutical industry and the talent needs of enterprises, jointly explore new models of university-enterprise collaborative education, and help improve the quality and efficiency of the school's talent cultivation work.

At the beginning of the activity, accompanied by the person in charge of the enterprise, the faculty and students successively visited the Geneseeq enterprise exhibition hall, core laboratories, and business operation platforms. Everyone observed at close range the company's technical layout and latest achievements in frontier fields such as precision medication guidance for late-stage tumors, perioperative minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring for early-to-mid-stage tumors, and early cancer screening for at-risk populations.

During the visit, the person in charge of the enterprise gave a detailed interpretation of the clinical application transformation of high-throughput sequencing technology, the full-process quality control system, and the construction of samples and big data platforms. Through vivid explanations and on-site displays, the faculty and students gained a more intuitive and profound understanding of the entire chain ecology of biopharmaceutical enterprises from "laboratory innovation" to "clinical transformation" and then to "industrialization."

In the subsequent symposium and exchange session, a special session for career development guidance was held. The head of the technical department of Geneseeq, combining macro industry trends with micro enterprise practices, systematically analyzed the wide application of gene testing technology in precision medical scenarios, and provided an in-depth introduction to core business sectors such as tumor detection, early screening and diagnosis, and cooperation with pharmaceutical companies, helping students clarify the industrialization path of frontier life science technologies.

Representatives from the enterprise's R&D department shared valuable experience on hot topics such as workplace mindset construction, efficient communication and collaboration, and AI tools empowering scientific research, focusing on the theme of "transitioning from scientific research thinking to engineering thinking." Combining their own growth experiences, they provided students with practical and operable career development suggestions, which resonated strongly with the faculty and students present.

The activity specially invited two outstanding alumni of Southeast University working at Geneseeq to share their experiences on-site. The alumni affectionately recalled their job-seeking journeys and conducted face-to-face in-depth exchanges with their juniors through vivid growth cases, covering core job competency requirements, internship and practice preparation, to career promotion planning.

The atmosphere of the interactive session was enthusiastic, and students eagerly asked questions on issues such as R&D position competency, interdisciplinary ability cultivation, acquisition of internship opportunities, and industry work rhythm. The patient answers from the alumni not only eliminated the students' job-seeking confusion but also pointed out the direction for everyone's future career planning.

Faculty representatives of the school held in-depth and pragmatic dialogues with relevant leaders from Geneseeq and the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Life and Health Office regarding university-enterprise and university-local cooperation. All parties explored the possibility of combining the enterprise's data resources with the school's basic research capabilities. In the future, through forms such as patent transformation, cooperative R&D, and open research projects, they will strengthen joint research with the school to promote the rapid transformation and application of original innovation achievements from universities at the enterprise end, achieving seamless integration of "production, education, research, and application." In terms of talent cultivation, relying on the industry advantages of Geneseeq, they will explore ways such as jointly cultivating graduate students and co-building internship and practice bases to advance the talent cultivation process and deepen talent cultivation reforms oriented toward industry needs. The Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Life and Health Office also responded positively, stating that it will conduct talent policy briefings, special biopharmaceutical recruitment activities, and other events for the school and Southeast University, cooperating with the university and enterprise to open up a fast track from "campus talent" to "workplace professional."

This "Enterprise Visit & Career Development" special action is not only an important measure for the school to implement the strategy of university-enterprise collaborative education but also a vivid practical lesson in "industry cognition and career planning." By stepping out of the campus and into the enterprise, students not only broadened their horizons in the life sciences and biopharmaceutical industry but also clarified the fit between their professional studies and future career development.

In the future, the school will continue to strengthen in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises in the industry, build more diversified internship and employment platforms, effectively promote the organic connection of the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain, and contribute to the cultivation of high-quality life science talents and the promotion of high-quality employment for graduates.
